Attention Red Wave
I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of the bye week (although that could change if it helps heal Cole Popovich).
But in anticipation of next Saturday's home game against La Tech, I've been thinking...
I want to see this city, this Valley light up with Bulldog Spirit. So I'm asking for all of your help. EVERYONE, get out your Fresno State car flags (or go buy some if you haven't yet) and fly them on your vehicle starting the Friday before the game (before every game) and leave them up all day Saturday and show up to Bulldog Stadium! Add stickers to your doors and windows and pom poms to your bumpers if you'd like. Get creative, just be supportive.
Let's fill the streets with university pride and community pride. Make everyone who isn't supporting the 'Dogs feel left out. Make them feel like they're missing something -- because they are.
And just think what it will do for the fans, what an inspiration it will be. Our how 'bout the players and coaches? Pat Hill has always wanted to paint the Valley red, so let's take a step in that direction.

Yeah, great idea. I do that "over the hill, on the 101." There is positive response by my neighbors and friends, even though most went to Cal Poly or San Joser!

Yeah, exactly, when you're coming from out of town it's even better...in a rallying the troops sort of way. Spread the word. I want to see flags EVERYWHERE Friday and Saturday.

I went to the Bulldog shop saturday and bought a flag for my truck and one for my house.... To go with my bulldog statue that sits on my porch!!! Go Dogs
ReplyDeleteThat's what I like to hear! I was pretty pumped last night driving down Cedar when I saw a guy flying his 'Dogs flag already (a week before the game).

Being around Oklahoma and Oregon where the streets are filled with flags and stickers and pom poms, trust me, it makes a big difference! And our fans are pound-for-pound the best there are!
How about the students?? Anyone contacting the Collegian to promote student pride on Friday?? Students should make this a tradition. Wear red every Friday before a home game!! I'm with you wear your red and support the Dogs!
ReplyDeleteStaff at Fresno State have "Red Fridays" and wear red to work. They also have donuts and coffee in the Pavilion. We need to get some sponsors to do it for students. If students wear "red" they should receieve some donuts too! What do you think?
